Video: F-Secure Virus Hunter Patrik Runald Chats with Us at RSA 2009
F-Secure's Patrik Runald was nice enough to stop by Proofpoint's booth at RSA and fill us in on the latest in virus and malware threats. Patrik is F-Secure's Chief Security Advisor and he spends a lot of time hunting the latest viruses as well as educating enterprises and end users about security risks and malware. F-Secure makes really terrific anti-virus software for both enterprises (which we use in our own products such as Proofpoint Virus Protection) and end-users.
F-Secure chief researcher Mikko Hyponnen made a bit of a splash at the RSA conference this week when he suggested that users should stop using Adobe Acrobat Reader in favor of alternative PDF readers because of security risks. Patrik talks with us about the rising number of Acrobat exploits and several other trending security risks - including MBR rootkits, the Conficker worm, virtualized viruses and more - in this video.
You can follow Patrik on Twitter @patrikrunald and he regularly contributes to the fantastically interesting F-Secure blog, "News from the Lab."
