Case Study: Southend University Hospital Secures Outbound Email with Proofpoint
Didn't quite get around to posting this late last week when it first came out, but Proofpoint watchers might be interested in this article from E-Health Insider. EHI talks to Konrad Hutchins at UK Proofpoint customer Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Southend is using Proofpoint email security appliances for outbound email security, including the Proofpoint Secure Messaging (our email archiving solution).
Konrad had this to say about Proofpoint Secure Messaging:
“The key benefits had to be that it was invisible to the end user and easy to deploy as well as being simple for the user and recipient to use... We’re now able to control our data and track where it is going. We’ve deployed a secure mail system, which is simple and easy to use for everyone.”
Like many organizations, Southend first engaged with us to do an outbound email audit, aimed at identifying how risky their outbound email practices were. According to the article, during that audit, the Proofpoint appliance identified, "more than 1,000 instances of unsecured outbound mail containing information that should have been encrypted."
